Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has left New York-Presbyterian Hospital Columbia University Medical Center, according to an official State Department statement. After a day marked by a mysterious roundtrip journey from and then back to the hospital, she left again, this time apparently for good. Hillary and Bill Clinton left the hospital in a black van, escorted by three black SUVs, at around 6:20 p.m. She was sitting in the back seat In the driver's side and Bill was in the passenger seat. The Secretary of State wore a grey scarf and had her hair pulled back. She had a stoic expression on her face and looked pale. The State Department's Philippe Reines said in a statement: "Secretary Clinton was discharged from the hospital this evening. Her medical team advised her that she is making good progress on all fronts, and they are confident she will make a full recovery. She's eager to get back to the office, and we will keep you updated on her schedule as it becomes clearer in the coming days. Both she and her family would like to express their appreciation for the excellent care she received from the doctors, nurses and staff at New York Presbyterian Hospital Columbia University Medical Center." Earlier in the day Clinton, last seen in public on Dec. 7, had exited from a side entrance at New York-Presbyterian Columbia Hospital and then returned about 15 minutes later.
